Hi “I made a new thread about this medications because the other one was too old”

how long before you feel any change like more happy and stuff, I been taking mine for a month for shcizoaffective disorder bypolar type (I also take bupropion 300 XL for depression) or so now, started with 5mg twice but took all at night and then my pdoc change it to 10mg twice but I take it all at night, all I can feel is emotionally numb or nothing at all, how long before the medication kicks in and makes me feel like human/normal/happy again? :confused: like im a lil inpatient and if is not going to work better why do even take it if makes me numb or does nothing, right?

Negative symptoms are not only caused by medication, schizophrenia itself causes most of the negative symptoms. My psychiatrist said there is no meds yet for negative symptoms so don’t expect them to decrease on any med or even without med.

Some medicines take up to two months to work properly. And if your doctor tells you to take them twice a day, take them twice a day.

The thing about meds with a mood components isn’t that they’ll make you happy, their purpose is just to make the depression and mood swings less intense so you can work on your emotions in therapy without getting overwhelmed.
