I feel awful but it’s long hours and to be expected to do 50 hours at some point and having to get to work at 8… and finish at 18:30? No way !
I’d say it’s best that you declined it, if you feel like you couldn’t handle it. Just curious, what was the job?
Packing picking
Would that be like sorting packages for a shipping company, something like that? I hope that’s not a stupid question.
For Amazon Uk. But essentially yes
That would be awfully hard to do for a ten hour shift. Fast-paced work.
50 hour work weeks are a lot. Especially since you’re just looking for something part time.
I was tempted but I’ve not been able to stick to other jobs. Needed to be realistic.
The part-time job I used to have was from 8am - 7pm at the weekends. It was horrible
Ish it’s a job. Worth it as life experience to say you’ve done it even if only for a month.
I’d rather be someone with 10 1 month crappy jobs to talk about than no jobs to talk about. You think it’s just a “job” but you learn a lot about what’s going on at the same time.
Sorry ish. I support you. Just hope you give it a 1 month try next time
I have to be careful of my sleep. Starting 8am would really wreck that.
Well if it’s not the right one this time, make it the right one next time. If only for a month
I think you made the right call. You have a consistent history of overtaxing yourself at work and then having a huge spike in symptoms. Waiting for the right job is a smart move.
I know. Like I said tempted !!! But 3 month notice if I wanted to leave … no thank you
Haha that’s bs, what are they going to do if you don’t give notice? Give you a bad reference? Hahahahaha
Yeah that’s why when I say part time I’m not gonna accept a job for the sake of it. Part time and I’m sticking to that.
Part time is a good idea. Book store, coffee shoppe, computer store. All good stuff and probably close by
And how did you even notice? I had so many jobs and it’s just been a disaster.
Ish loading boxes would have been back breaking work… I think it’s for the best
50 hours would have been a tricky jump straight away. Look for a part-time stint in a low stress environment. Get paid for what you know you’re worth, ish.
