I hate working, advice?

I completed my second shift at my new job today. It’s a warehouse position, I’m picking orders. I’m walking all day while lifting heavy boxes. I’m exhausted. The shift feels like it takes forever to finish. I don’t like the work and it only pays 15$ per your (14$ is minimum wage in my province here in Canada)

The shift is 8 and 1/2 hours long. I consistently check the time, eagerly waiting for the end of the shift.

Any advice ?

$15 is good. But you should find part time work. 8 1/2 hours for an SZ person is really hard.

If it’s part time you’ll have some fun with it.

I don’t have schizophrenia but I have been diagnosed with depression, anxiety, OCD and ADHD.

Really if you’re getting the right meds for your conditions then you should change to part time and see if you can handle it better. Just like what @naturallycured suggested.

Anxiety flares up in social settings, I imagine.

Try part time! Or really gut up. It might get easier over time.

You don’t get breaks and a lunch?

We get two 10 minute breaks and a 30 minute lunch.

That doesn’t break it up enough for you? I used to work 12 hour shifts at Walmart. It was tough.

I went to school for two years to get my aircraft mechanics license and had to take some killer tests and had to really study and my first aircraft mechanics job paid $15 an hour so that’s not bad money.

I got out of it though because I also have a masters degree and I make $32 an hour now. But I should be making $50 or more. Still underemployed but us schizos have to take what we can get.

Give it time, it may get better. You may begin to like it more as you get used to it and learn the job.

İ m working as a cleaner at school.my shift 8.30am to 5.30 pm.but usually work finish at 7pm. İ can not say its hard job but i feel like i can not doing job well.i always have delusion that i m not doing cleaning enough and this delusions made me unmotivated.and sometimes when i sick no one take care of the school instead of me.i m the only person who is at school.thats the most unmotivated part of my job.everything messed up when i was sick.other than its not so hard job.i have 1 hour lunch and unlimited breaks unless its not more than 10 minutes.i usually mop take the bins out cleaning classrooms.you should be motivate yourself thats the crucial part i guess.you shouldn t think you are incompetible for your job ,think that you are like everybody else except with lot of struggle.if you overcome this delusion you will understand that you very strong humanbeing

Same here, I don’t have ADHD nor OCD but I have psychotic depression.

Part times saves the day. I have chronic fatigue so part time works best for me.

Dont quit too early

I’d try to last two weeks before quitting if it’s possible to see if you adjust to it. But if you absolutely can’t do it then quit.

I personally loved working as a materials handler. I loved being active and on my feet all day. I know that when I first started I was sore because I had to build muscles to do the job. But once I got used to it I had a blast. Give it some time. Also, if you prove yourself to them there may be the opportunity to move up to something else.

been there done that, warehousing jobs can be ■■■■ at the beginning. but if you’re a good employee they may have you start loading trucks or driving a forklift. which isn’t as physical usually. or maybe some other job.

i have no advice, but when i was working in a warehouse and hated it, my brother in law told me, “nobody likes their job, it’s just something you have to do.” which is the opposite of what he told me niece, which was find something you love and do that for a living, money isn’t important. what an ■■■■■■■ he is, he’s probably never done a week of physical labor in his life, but he is partly correct, because i loved my job on the golf course working outside.
