So I was on the Facebook page for Hearing Voices of Support (SAARDA) and they were talking about the possibility of Cannabidiol helping SZ/SZA patients with positive symptoms. There is too much debate about this. Did early marijuana use cause my SZA? Does cannabidiol exascerbate psychosis? I am shocked that people think it could help us.
December 19 at 2:25pm · #Cannabidiol May Be Effective Adjunct to Antipsychotic Treatment for #Schizophrenia Patients: Patients with schizophrenia who are prescribed cannabidiol (CBD) in addition to antipsychotics may experience lower levels of positive psychotic symptoms compared with those taking antipsychotics alone, according to a report in AJP in Advance.
Neither am I. Cannabis is the devil, so to speak. But if renowned scientists come to the conclusion that CBD is a healthy alternative to APs, id be stupid to at least not listen to them and try it out.
does anybody know the difference between cbd oil and regular hemp oil? I use the hemp oil in my smoothies, was wondering if it would be worth it to try some cbd as well
At this point in time all the brilliant chemists are working for big pharma. There is a university in Michigan starting a medicinal plant chemistry program, so maybe in the future. I just want people to make the best possible medicinal choice for themselves and not suffer. Vraylar and the occasional Xanax for social anxiety/breakthrough symptoms are working wonders for me.
Got CBD e liquid yesterday from a shop. 100mg. So far it has helped with positive symptoms, but I vaped alot (like 2 tanks). Cost me $40. Today I ordered 300mg for around $100 (shipping/handling/tax). Will update on how it works out. I believe CBD is effective, but it’s expensive.
I am weaning myself off loxapine (50mg) will stay on Cymbalta and Clonazepam (for negatives) and hopefully just puff on CBD (for positives)
I was on Abilify for maybe 20 years and it worked great. I thought I was misdiagnosed because I was having no symptoms. I hated being fat from my meds so I went off my meds for almost a year and a half and went through hell. I tried taking the Abilify shot (Maintena) and that did not even work for me. It just lost it’s effectiveness so I bounced around trying other things. I am now on Vralyar 3 mg.
I purchased a CBD Vape pen and it did not do anything for the most part. To me it is mostly hype. Fun to inhale though… it maybe possible that due to my lack of sleep I did not notice any minor or subtle changes because I was totally trying to look for major ones.
Just wondering what you meant by this. How are these two things correlated? Do you think you cannot be both a marijuana advocate and a mental health advocate?
I am trying not to judge or offend. I want to help. I don’t want people to suffer from positive symptoms. I am not convinced that CBD can help us. Vraylar works wonders for me. Sometimes I get the feeling everyone thinks marijuana or CBD is a cure- all. Personally I am afraid to try it. My teenage marijuana use may have triggered my sza so I am bitter. THC always caused me to hallucinate. It would be great if it did work because it is plant based and more natural. I could eat my words. We may have a different idea of healthy. I still drink occasionally so that is my poison honestly and overeating I guess.
CBD is not the bad stuff. THC is the bad stuff. CBD is harmless and even good for you. I take CBD oil 10 mg every morning with no ill effects. In fact, it controls my morning anxiety and treats my arthritis pain quite effectively and I have no positive symptoms from it. I take it in capsule form. CBD has no THC in it at all. THC is what you want to stay away from. Not CBD.
I don’t want to clash on here with anyone. I came here for the community and I get alot out of this forum. I wish you & everyone here a symptom free new year!
