Rotator cuff tear

The excellent Physicians Assistant did in one day what my family doctor couldn’t do in a year.

She examined my painful right arm and shoulder and ordered X Rays of my right shoulder and diagnosed me with a torn rotator cuff.

She said that I should follow up with an orthopedic doctor and I may have to get an MRI for further evaluation.

Physical therapy could be helpful.

Man, I’m glad I went to urgent care today!

Finally got to the bottom of my shoulder pain!

Thanks @LilyoftheValley
I’ll make sure to rest it and do some light exercises I got from YouTube.

Now I know how to treat it.

Sometimes surgery becomes necessary but I’m not planning to get operated on anytime soon.

I’m getting mine checked out on Monday actually. It’s been messed for like 8 months. I tried physio it made it much worse. So I’m going to get it scanned. Might get a steroid shot in the meantime.
It’s 24/7 shooting pain from front shoulder to my inside of elbow.

Feels like I’m gonna lose function of it if I stop moving it.

So they were able to diagnose with an xray? I was thinking of doing an mri on it

Mines from repetitive strain and also acute sports injury

We’ll the X Ray was done to eliminate other issues.
I really need to get an MRI done, but a muscle tear makes sense.
She was very confident about the diagnosis after examining me.

Yeah im gonna do the mri. Hopefully the wait isn’t long or I’ll have to pay out of pocket.

Did you get a cortisone shot?

No my arm and shoulder hurt only when I move it in certain ways.
But I am not dismissing the idea entirely

I have had right shoulder pain when I move my arm certain ways too. I’ve had it for over two years now. I’ve been examined by two gp’s, a PT, and I’ve had xrays. The xrays are negative for arthritis. The PT ordered exercises which I didn’t want to do. My gp ordered Lidocaine patches which I only rarely wear. I guess it’s my own fault.

Saw my doctor yesterday. He said i need an mri.
So i have to get an xray first before the gov will approve the mri.
Hes gonna give me one corticosteroid shot after the xray in the meantime.

He said if theres calcification thats a reason why it hurts 24/7.

He suspects its torn.

Soo im going to get an xray today

Buddy, you are taking big steps.
I only hope that you remain on you current meds, which allow you to involve in action towards your and your father’s health.
I my self are preparing to do the same, although my 5year agony of hip replacement left horror feeling of self over engagement towards my health.
I wish you all well with future engagement in health help…

Got my xray back. It said i have a 2.2cm calcification adjacent to the humerus bone. It is calcific tendinopathy. So yup thats why it hurts lol.
