AhhhHhHhH anxiety anxiety anxiety and jitteriness. Awful. My symptoms are hitting me like a hurricane intermittently. I am not predicting a good outcome for organic chemistry 2
My mom said my pupils were hugely dilated when I saw her today and I’m not sure if that’s from the withdrawal or just another symptom. Who knows. Anyways I’m losing my mind currently. Carry on. I’ll make it through this. Be strong be strooong
Ah I’m sorry. My anxiety went through the roof when I quit antipsychotics as well so I know the feeling. Its very unpleasant. Why did you stop taking it if you don’t mind me asking?
You’ll get through this. Like you said, be strong!
It was giving me sexual dysfunction. Sounds silly but it was a big deal to me. I can’t stand antipsychotics. Maybe I’ll wait to go back on them once they improve the quality. I’m glad I have the option to do that. (I can still function off APs fairly well as long as I’m not having an episode)
I remember when I went from 4mg to 2mg of risperidone(I’ve since went back up to 4). I don’t remember really having any withdrawls. I had to go back up because the voices came back and made me think that people were stalking me. I hope you do well in organic chemistry. From the chemists I knew they said that it was a very difficult class.
Its almost Day 16 without an AP (Risperdal) and I am taking extra Klonopin and it helps tremendously.
I wouldnt be able to make it without ths Benzo in my system everyday - and I have been on Risperdal for a decade.
I am suffering from more than just Anxiety - but I am glad to say that I did not experience true Akathisia today.
Coming off of Antipsychotics after being on them for years is a really tough process - many go back to the APs because they cannot take the withdrawals.
Benzos really help with the agitation, anxiety and visual distortions - For me everything seems a bit dream like (kind of like being on a small dose of LSD),
Without enough Klonopin in my system I would be crawling back to APs in a flash.
Hopefully you are taking a Benzo to help you along - it helps many people going through this kind of withdrawal.
I also drink plenty of water and make sure I eat enough. You should have an easier time of it than me - I dont think that you were on Risperdal that long.
I noticed that its easier to withdrawal when your brain is medicated on something else - stay away from illicit drugs and alcohol during the withdrawal period especially.
Best of luck to you.
Yeah I’ve only been on it for a month. Shows you how strong these meds are when it’s this gross and I’ve been on a small dose for hardly any time…
I do have a benzo and just took it recently. But oh man this anxiety/jitteriness is reminding me of when I was on Abilify. Ick. Thank you for the advice and best of luck to you getting off Risperdal as well!
I had withdrawals from risperidone all three times I went off of it. same with abilify and invega. but every time I got off the risperidone they put me on different APs like fanapt abilify, latuda, Haldol and invega. I was told by my old pdoc that i’m difficult to treat, since i’m med resistanced
