I haven’t watched the video but I like that Warren Buffet still lives in the same house that he started in. Some people don’t need all the luxury. It’s inspiring.

I suppose rich people have that choice on the other hand poor people can’t really afford to choice to live rich. Anyway I believe values are more important to be happy, decent, intellegent, good, kind etc.

My uncle was an extremely wealthy man.
Honestly, we don’t even know how wealthy because we keep finding more money.
(He was one of those “don’t trust the banks” people)
Anyway, he lived in the same house he grew up in,
Never bought a car past 1969,
And I’m pretty sure stopped buying shirts around that time too.
The only thing I ever saw him splurge on was sound equipment.
He liked classical music and wanted to hear it like he was at the concert every time.

Nobody in my family came from money.
The two most important resources for a man are time and health. I reckon money can help with both, but it isn’t always enough (see Steve Jobs).

I always saw my dad as having something wrong psychologically because he is wealthy and we have to go through hell whenever it comes to spending money. He was a workaholic and retired at 85 and keeps himself involved in his field of work daily because he had so much passion for it. I hope this helps me realize that my dads type of lifestyle of living well below his income and wealth and just for the basics in life is not some type of psychological abnormality that I have come to think it was.

Oh God, that’s my wife’s aunt and uncle. We found $800K in investment accounts they had forgotten they had while cleaning their home for the sale. Roy had containers of change everywhere. I think it worked out to over a couple of grand (we peeked in the attic just in case and he had cans of change up there, too).

He buried money under his greenhouse.
We didn’t know until his widow tore it down.
There was a lot of money was under there, but that they had lost about 25% to decay.
Couldn’t even get serial numbers off of them.
