@Genbu I read online somewhere that the Gnostics believed in reincarnation, but that this ideal was shot-down by ancient “mainstream” Christianity. I don’t know if any of this is true, but what do you think about reincarnation?
When I was in hospital, I was told by a boy that we live each moment again and again through repeating the same life’s.
How do we know if there’s a set path for us, how do I know if my voices aren’t trying to help me on the path. But I do what I want and ignore them and trailblaze my way through,
But I do have those moments where I think what if I’m doing life wrong.
What if we are here until we learn our lessons then we get to move on, wherever that may be.

Sounds like a time loop.
What I have believed is there are different paths to take in this life and in previous/future lives. What we choose for our paths in our lives will determine if we go to a heaven dimension or a hell dimension. Once we take each path and after we have reached our destination then will come the end which will lead to what I believe to be a long possibly harsh “road” back to the start of existence. Then we will start our lives over again choosing either the same paths or different paths. This will continue to loop for forever. At least that’s what I’ve believed when I am at my worst, it starts to seem like a delusion when I get healthier but it still lingers for me.

I think if it is true then it ties in with Karma.
I know I’ve come across a Christian website that actually said Scripture supports this idea, but yeah they are shot-down by mainstream Christianity for it.

Huh. Makes me feel so … I don’t know.
It doesn’t conflict much at all with anything I think. If anything it seems to go hand-in-hand with it.

That’s actually my belief of what happens to people who commit suicide. I think every lifetime is imperative for us to learn certain lessons. You can end it early and go home for a break if it’s an emergency, but you’ll have to start all over again from the beginning when you get back. I don’t know if you necessarily live the exact same life over again but a very similar one anyways.
Maybe since you have that fear it means you have possibly killed yourself before and this lifetime is a repeat/redo. Hmm.

I have similar beliefs. I was reading online once that the Tibetan Book of the Dead has actual prayers that you can say for the souls of people who commit suicide.

I think this may be more the age group of your friends @cherie. I think that young healthy people who haven’t yet had to deal with many hardships or challenges in life tend to not worry or think about some of these life questions.

I don’t think the lessons ever stop, maybe there’s a set of very important ones but to me it doesn’t seem like anyone gets to a point when they’re like “ok, I’m done”. If they do, they will soon realize there’s more to understand. So going by that, how could it be that “escaping the rebirth cycle” can ever be achieved if there’s infinite lessons?
I was high one day before my psychosis, and had an interesting thought that felt good, probably a delusion but the thought was that my next life I wanted to be a different species, an alien, and this life is a stepping stone to get to that.
On the topic of infinite loops, I think this may be tied to a fear that develops when we hit the same “emotional wall” and cannot take a leap of faith and go further. Felt like it happened to me while having a bad marijuana trip many times. So every time we come back to this place in counciousness, there’s a fear that stems from our experience bumping into this place in counciousness before which may make us feel like we’re in an infinite loop, and then the voices take this fear and make it into some kind of scary story.

But understand… what? The statement is paradoxical in some way, but it doesn’t mean there is no such thing as understanding. At least, I don’t hear it that way. At all.

I hope I am never reincarnated, my life was very traumatic as a child then I got mental illness when I became an adult.

We don’t remember anything anyway - from a past life, so whatever !
your spirit is eternal, good or bad is up to you.
We’re living the same life on repeat over and over again, you need to focus on changing what you did in the last life and do something different in this one, the big billionaires are just laughing at all you doing the same thing over and over again. Your not supposed to repeat what you’ve done, it’s like a game to try and change everything you did in your last life this life. Otherwise they win we just do the same thing for eternity. Its basically the pedofile world on repeat it’s just a bang and echo through space
