Refills dilemma - Medications

What can we do each month when we reorder meds to not miss a dose? I always seem to go 2 to 3 days without meds every month either too lazy to go up and get them too slow ordering or waiting for pharmacy to get them.

I use medisafe app. You can make the app remind you when it’s time.

I usually go to the pharmasist when I have 1-2 weeks left of my meds. Just in case they are out and need to order them.

Ok that seems counterproductive

I had problems with every refill, either they “forgot to order them” when I used the computer refill and went to pick them up, or if I walked it in, they would always make me wail an hour and a half extra, then tell me did I know I could have avoided the wait if I used the computer.

It was always something, and the hassle was more than I could take and one of the main reasons I stopped taking them.

Yeah totally agree. I didn’t know I could do anything over the computer we are slow in iowa.

You can buy med packages that have the day, week, time of day etc on them so you know you have taken them that day. You can get your pharmacist to make one up for a small cost each month or can buy one and make it up yourself.

Are many different ones around though but look something like this

I’ve heard that some pharmacy’s will mail them to you so you don’t have to have the hassle of getting out and getting them.

You might want to talk to your pharmacy about an automatic re-order system and delivery.

I’m talking about refills people not the supply they give you. I’m talking about the interim between ordering and getting pills.

Things I do. I had my doctor rewrite might prescription for a 90 day supply. The fewer times you refill the less likely you are to run out.

I keep an extra stash of emergency medication around. I just refill a few days earlier each time and put the extra into the stash. This way if something screws up at the pharmacy or I forget or whatever, I can make it through a week or two.

I also sign up for auto renewal at my pharmacy. They text or call me when the prescription is ready or if I need a doctor’s renewal or whatever.

Thanks I’m writing this down.
