No both increase dopamine and norepinephrine. Bupropion is a norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake inhibitor (NDRI).

i think it have less influence on dopamine.

Yes that was what it is for. Just start on a low dose because it shouldn’t be prescribed the same way it is for adhd. My psychiatrist started me on the second the lowest dose and he doesn’t plan on increasing it because I don’t need a high dose like people with adhd and the less risk of side effects. Be careful with caffeine but i still drink a cup of coffee every morning.
In the first week or so it might seem like it’s not helping but I would recommend giving it a month before you decide to quit if your psychiatrist prescribes it. Also, do you have positive symptoms often? I would not recommend it if you have positive symptoms.
I have not had positive symptoms in awhile so I am able to tolerate it. But when I start falling asleep I feel them slightly and my dreams are more vivid, sometimes a little disturbing…but the pros outweigh the cons for me right now. I’m adapting to it and I feel it’s helping me process things better, because if I were constantly feeling boxed in I can’t process anything.
Negative symptoms are important to treat. I notice I have a better attention span, my memory is improving, and I’m less irrational because I’m able to process things more so that’s a good thing. Hope that helps.

- Narrow angle glaucoma
- Poor metabolizers (due to the metabolism of atomoxetine by CYP2D6)

its placebo i think as i have took it for few days, not much cognitive benefits may be some 10%
How severe were your negative symptoms before?
I stay in bed all day everyday, only get up to eat.
you can try green tea it gives better cognitive effect with just 1 cup of green tea. you can notice the effect within few minutes.
You seem to be really against it. But you only took it for three days so didn’t give it a chance to start working…I agree there are risks with all medications. I understand your fear of it. I don’t recommend anyone else take it I will see how it goes. But i feel pretty balanced more than I have felt in awhile. It has stopped me from using drugs. So it must be doing something for me.
Anything that changes norepinephrine can cause heart issues because norepinephrine increases blood pressure and heart rate.
that’s what I was doing…and I’m realizing maybe the effects weren’t from the anti-psychotics but from the schizophrenia too because schizophrenia causes that.
I hope you find something to work for you. I am stable on a high dose of anti-psychotics though you’re only on 5mgs of risperdal. I took risperdal when I was symptomatic at first and it wasnt enough or the medication. Everyone’s different. I think I was on 15mgs of Risperdal and it still didn’t work. I have been on almost all the atypicals and none of them worked very well. Geodon made me worse too. Everyone’s different. Whatever caused my schizophrenia must have had to do with a problem regulating dopamine and serotonin.
Don’t want you disappointed or worse triggering psychosis with strattera. I think everyone is right that it could trigger psychosis.
Since you are taking strattera daily you not able to tell if your paranoia is due to any medication or getting naturally. So if you are getting any paranoid thoughts, nervousness etc then do tell your doctor regarding strattera use as it can cause these issues without any previous paranoia, anxiety etc.

The max dose of Risperdal is 4mg, are you sure you were on 15mg? Risperdal is a very strong antipsychotic, 4th strongest among all meds for sz. I am on 3mg.
Oh ok then I was probably on 3mg I couldn’t remember if it was 3 or 15.
