Reconnected with an old friend

I ran into an old friend when I was mowing my dads office. This was about a month ago. He ended up calling me on thanksgiving and we got together and played a game of disc golf. It was pretty fun and chill. All the friends I hang out with usually are mentally ill. I’m high functioning and it’s nice to have someone to do more regular stuff with. Plus we’ve known each other since junior high. We also have mutual friends that got schizophrenia as well, some I didn’t know got it, so he’s not ignorant about it. Anyways it was a good time and I wanted to share. it’s nice to reconnect and spend time with old friends.

Thanks. Yeah I’m glad I ran into him. Maybe this could lead to me reconnecting with other people I used to know. Either way it’s nice to get on a more regular basis with someone I used to know. it’s like I’m still around and feel more accepted instead of feeling like that part of my past is gone.

if you want more friends you used to know…I look them up on facebook…good way to reach ppl.

I don’t really use Facebook. It’d be weird to connect that way. Most my old friends are married or have children, but I’d feel comfortable running into them in a more organic way. This guy was kinda part of a different group of friends, but we’d kick it back in the day. I’m not to close with his group even though I know all of them. There’s a few from his group that I’d feel comfortable reaching out to. I’m gonna just chill though. He kinda weirdly overlapped cause he skated with us sometimes and we hung out when we were younger.

Thats cool man. Its great to reconnect with old friends. Even if you dont hangout again much its nice to catch up with people we’ve lost touch with.

I met up with an old friend I grew up with we lived near each other. I moved away when I was 13 in 2001. We went mountain biking in 2018. I just reached out to him on Facebook one day and said I was going to be out his way and see if he wanted to go riding. It was a good time. We just live a bit too far to really hang out much though.
