Really nervous for dental deep cleaning

Im afraid its gonna hurt… especially when they give me the shot in my gums to numb everything

There usually is a slight pain with the shot. But you probably wont feel much pain after that. Maybe a tiny bit if they hit your gums wrong.

It’s mostly painless. I get cleanings regularly.

I’m getting the deep clean done this week, too! I had to make 2 appointments, one for each side of my mouth. I’ve never had it done before, either, and am a bit apprehensive…

They do for the deep cleanings I believe.

Same here one for each side Im going to do my left side first. I think my appointment is june 20th im very nervous… good luck with yours

If it hurts, let them know. They can numb you more

My deep cleaning was a few years back, but I have had fillings taken care of and regular cleanings recently. I know the shot is not that bad because they use it for fillings.

I usually go about 4 times a year or so.

I guess my deep cleaning was far enough back that I dont remember for sure. But I dont ever remember any of these procedures that were unbearably painful.

The only time I seriously remember anything with a dentist not going smoothly was when I went to a walk in clinic for a tooth removal in my youth. Dude had to brace himself and crack it and strain and pull. Was a chore.

Seriously don’t let it stress you too much. It will almost certainly go smoother than you are imagining it might.

I just close my eyes and relax.

You might feel a bit of discomfort. IDK>

The numbing medication will be a huge help, the discomfort will be minimal, just close your eyes, and maybe put on some earphones or something?

I have sensitive teeth and get my cleaning done without any numbing, I don’t ask, I just tough it out, but my cleanings are regular not deep.

Anyhow, dentists are not fun lol, but you’ll be okay and will be relived once your deep cleanings are done!
