I am going to take my camper to Pensacola soon and break it in. When I bought it I made reservations for me and the wife in it at the Blue Angel Park and my wife wouldn’t go. She said it’s not big enough. Calls it the midget mobile.

That was in April. I have been trying to sell it but no one wants to buy it so I guess I will camp alone. I think the dogs will like the beach but I can’t trust them off leash so they won’t get the full experience.

In East Hill, in Pensacola, there’s a dog beach.

I used to live in that neighborhood and take my dogs all the time.

Cool. I am not familiar with that part. I lived in Pensacola from 95 to 97 when I was in flight school.

There are two campgrounds on the Navy base but they aren’t really on Pensacola beach but on the bay. But they have a beach there and let you bring your dogs.

I was there the same time.

We camped on base like every other weekend.

My dad is retired Navy.

Small world. I applied to the Air Force academy when I was in high school and didn’t get in. So I joined the Navy. Left for boot camp 5 days after graduation so I missed senior trip in Ft Walton Beach.

I actually got accepted into the Naval Academy when I was in the Navy but would have had to have gone to the preparatory school for 9’months. I made the mistake of going to visit and saw how they treated the freshmen and midshipmen and went home to go to LSU and party instead. I was 19. College was a blast.

After college I went in the Marine Corps as an officer with a guaranteed flight contract but we of course all go to Navy flight school.

I retired from the Marine Corps with 20 years of active duty but between the Navy and Marines I had about 26 years of service.

Nothing wrong with that and shame on her for the name she gave it

I had an uncle who was a Marine too!

I think he was in Vietnam. I heard he was a “scout.”

He would sneak into super dangerous enemy territory, study it, then go back to base and draw it.

Very cool. I was a helicopter pilot too. Wanted F-18s but glad I got helicopters. They were so fun to fly.

I did a tour in the Marines flying King Airs. It’s a multi engine turboprop you fly passengers in. That was so freaking boring. You would take off turn on the autopilot and then I would fall asleep. You had to turn the autopilot off to land but everything in between was boring as hell.

Helicopters were a lot of fun.

It was strange how I ended up in the Navy. I went to see the Air Force recruiter. The sign on the door said they were open. The business hours listed in the window said they should be open. But nobody was in there.

The Navy recruiter was next door so I went in. I was only 17. It took some convincing to get my dad to sign the papers. He didn’t want me to join.

Really I’d vote for boxer briefs. That’s what I wear, have for years.

Would you stay at a year round trailer park? Theres also the tiny house option. Which is basically a trailer.
