Reading material(title probably used)

So I’ve come into possession of some reading material… an “Eden Express.” Sorry @daze I’ll have to get to that scifi one later on.

Trouble is I’m totally out of the habit of reading. I can’t seem to just pick it up and get started.

It chronicles the story of Mark Vonnegut and his experience with the illness. To madness and back is the theme.

I know it’ll be good and worth the initial couple hours of struggling, I just can’t do it though. I’d rather hover over the forum here.

Anyone else read this? I’m assuming a lot of you have.

Jeez, Mark Vonnegut (Kurt’s son) is mentally ill??? That proves one of my posts yesterday that relatives of people with mental illness tend to be creative geniuses. Because Kurt wasn’t mentally ill, but he was a bit eccentric and crazy-like. He possessed the mentally ill gene but never attained the debilitating illness itself. My theory…PROVEN. Well Maybe not, but it’s an indication.

Just like my Dad, he went to Yale for architecture, he definitely is crazy-like. Good point…

My dad went to Cornell and is an engineer. He’s a little out there, self-admitted.

You’re lucky he admits it… oh boy. long story.

But I seriously love my Dad at the same time.

I read “Eden Express” a long time ago - when I was around 16. I liked it. Give it a chance. You’ll probably like it too.

Was told the first part is terrible. The second part is interesting though. That’s when his psychosis develops.

It’s been so long I don’t remember - 40 years long.

I don’t remember, but the first part might have to do with what was going socially at the time - with the hippie movement and all. I remember there was some of that in the book.

I was told something along those lines.
