Readers! The Reading Club!

I’d like to join a reading club. Right now, I’m reading the third book of “The School for Good and Evil”. I struggle with reading most days, but I really enjoy it on the days I’m able to read. A book club would be fun!

We’ll do suggestions on a book or story for all of us to read for August. Anyone who doesn’t want to read the book can choose to start reading books or short stories to see how many they can read in a month.

I’m in. I think it’s a great concept and it’s something we could pull off easily. Look forward to seeing this get off the ground.

oh oh oh yes I want in !! I love randomly picking books off the shelves at the library.

This sounds cool

I join, nice idea!

I want to suggest this book. It is the most recent book i read, but i found it beautiful and would love to reread and discuss it. It is a short and accessible book, so an easy starter. It is about love and friendship and loss and hope. I did cry with the twist at the end. It gets 4.6 out of 5 stars in Amazon.

Up, up. 151515151515

Sounds good to me @anon4362788! I’m in.

I am currently reading “tommyknockers” by stephen king AND “the forbidden door” by dean koontz…

I can’t get that book from any library in Michigan.

Sorry for the delay, guys. My son had a health emergency and I spent the past week in the hospital with him.

I’ll get some ideas for this going, officially start on Saturday since it’s the 1st

Right now, let’s focus on discussing what we are reading right now. By Saturday please post the book title, author, fiction or non fiction, and a quick description of what it’s about. Then, if you feel like 8lit, tell us what you think of the book.

Everyone, feel free to ask questions about each book. It’ll be a real bonus if you can tell us where to find the book, Kindle Unlimited and Overdrive for library systems would be awesome for some of us.

Happy reading!

@anon4362788, do you want us to post our book we’re reading in this same thread?

I’m currently reading a book about the films of Roger Corman.

I had a copy of it from the library, then I returned it because I ordered a used copy and it’s taking the post office forever to get it to me.

I’ll make a new thread and title it for August.

Sorry, I can’t save the link in the app. My phone is being a turd.

That’s too bad. It is available at amazon, but that costs money of course (13-14 dollar i think). Maybe there is some kindle version, i dont know how that works…

Edit: it has a kindle edition, but that is still 4,70. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07TT5G6MD/ref=tmm_kin_title_0?ie=UTF8&qid=&sr=

Thanks for the link! What’s weird is that when I open the link it’s 6.99 for me

Weird. Maybe amazon has a different price for books sold in Europe?

I have to warn you the book isnt happy. It is sad. Though there is hope too…in German it is called Monsieur Linh and the gift of hope.

Oh ok. I don’t like books with sad endings. I don’t mind sad stories as long as they have a happy ending. Real life has enough unhappy endings of its own.
