I suffer very much this days.
It’s religion and sexual distress.
How are you,are you doing same?

After reading about pure o OCD it seems to be something I struggle with daily. I struggle with negative religious thoughts a lot. It’s depressing.

I thought I had pure O but I realized my compulsions just aren’t as bad as my obsessions. I’m sorry you’re struggling with it. OCD is annoying as hell

I have my mind correcting rituals which your not supposed to do but i feel like i NEED to do them

That is regular ocd with compulsion…

I have mostly checking ocd. I check things like 3 to 30 times depending on what it is. I find ocd kicks up if theres pending events or more stressors. If things are more relaxed then it eases up.

Does stress increase pure ocd?

Hi @zoa,

Doing okay with Pure-O at the moment— it kinda disrupts my day but not as bad as it was when my mom was in the hospital last summer.

Last summer my Pure-O was out of control: I couldn’t do anything that felt “off” out of fear it would affect my mom’s health and she would die (she was very ill in the hospital at the time).

Now that my mom is better for the most part, the Pure-O is back to the usual symptoms.

I’m sorry you’re going through so much with your Pure-O— my advice would be to just take it easy on yourself and know that you are a strong person. Wishing you the best :purple_heart:.

Well, I don’t know if I have pure O, could be, but I was getting sexual images in the head a lot. Some therapist even suggested that they are related to OCD.

No matter how hard I resisted the thoughts or the images, they used to appear more forcefully. So, what I did was, I consciously started thinking about the distressing images before they would appear. In a week’s time, all those symptoms, bothering me for months if not years, went away.

Im In the process of using erp for my intusive thoughts. All i can say is that i am hopful. I deal with pure O and thought broadcasting so im kinda doing exposure to both while refraiming at the same time.

Ive been practicing on video games characters..i get intrusive thoughts whenever im anxious and my brain tells methat in the life like scenes in the video games that the charactera can hear my thoughts. So its really good exposure practice before i move on to TV then finally real people.

This pure O and thought broadcasting combo has been debilitating…if i can over come it i can go back to work!!!

The first 4 sessions have gone very well. Im gonna stick with video games until im not bother then move up the chain. Ive been working with my therapist and using this OCD workbook.

Thanks man.. and likewise. I think people underestimate how hard unwanted thoughts can be. Real talk..i wouldn’t wish this crap on my worst enemy
