Psychosis I need to get this off my chest

First I wanted to say how much I appreciate everyone here. I don’t have much of anywhere to go to find peace of mind except here. I just had bad episode of psychosis. I thought everyone could read my mind and they were really hard to deal with. They were really messing me up at every thought. This seems like it was the first time that psychosis has hit so hard while I was on medication. This is also the first time I came out of it by not taking different or more medication. I’m greatfull on one hand because I was able to get through it without having to be hospitalized or start a new medication regiment, but I’m concerned on the other hand that I might be getting to the point where no medication is effective like the pd said happens. Thanks for letting me get this off my chest here.

I have breakthrough psychotic episodes too. I becomes more paranoid that my stuff has been bugged and that people can read my mind, like you. I also tend to become catatonic. Not fun. Anyway, sounds like you’ve been on a few different medications. Has your psychiatrist ever said anything to you about trying Clozapine? I’ll be taking my first dose this coming Tuesday. There is a hell of a lot of monitoring involved but it is supposed to be the most effective antipsychotic by far.

This place has helped me alot too. I have had psychosis off meds. Its very scary. Mostly because i feel like my brain is dying when in psychosis. That adds stress. Aside delusions.

My psychosis is always about what I believe, and other stuff, but that mainly. Like do I believe people can read my mind or not. I just doubt everything. Psychosis is really stressful for me to. @anon62371846

Yeah, psychosis is a terrifying experience. I’m fortunate that APs tend to work pretty well for me, especially Abilify. Zyprexa used to be my go-to AP, though. Now Zyprexa at therapeutic levels causes unbearable akathisia, just like Seroquel and Risperdal. Latuda made me terribly flat, like scary flat. But yeah, now I get effective Abilify Maintena injections with very little side effects, really just decreased libido, but I can live with that. :slightly_smiling_face:
