Psychology behind PRESSURE

Was talking to my mom about a lot of psychological things today. I was talking about late bloomers vs. early bloomers. Early bloomers IMO have more of a foundation for success. They’re used to success at a young age and that carries into their adulthood. Late bloomers on the other hand have to work hard to get to a successful level. They probably build a bigger resilience and if they strive to be something great, they really can be GREAT. But sometimes its too late…

I also was talking about if you’re like a “prodigy”. Athletes are the obvious example here. A high school star who is going to college for it and maybe make it in the pros tends to wake up to the world very fast when they realize their aspirations. They grow up fast once they get that pressure put on them… A therapist told me that.

I’m no prodigy but when I was 22 I started to believe I was Jesus and I was going to make it in this world as the messiah and that was the most pressure I could have possibly been put on me. In turn I’ve grown up very fast since then. It’s been an arduous past 5 years but everything is starting to make sense now.

I believe the human brain can be activated in a way through motivation to reach greater limits than someone who doesn’t ever strive for much.

Then my mom said “You were forced to find yourself more from when you were 18 because of your mental illness”…Maybe true too…but it didn’t compare to the immense pressure put on me on my 22nd birthday when I believed I was the Messiah.

What do you think about these psychologies?

Actually studies have shown that “early bloomers” as you put it tend to be more prone to depression later in life. This is because not all of these child prodigies then grow up to continue to be successful…many of them peak in childhood…I think the suicide rate is even higher for them. There is also the continued pressure on them to continue to be amazing and outdo themselves for the rest of their lives.

When my mom was alive, it was nice to talk with her about all kinds of topics.

Late-bloomers, think they’re late because they just aren’t ready and they know it.

Better late than never.

I believe people only have a certain amount of emotions/greatness and failures in life to endure, despite how everything feels otherwise.
There is only so far one can get above others before they seem come back down to earth and their heads can fit into a normal width door. They seem to flatten out and join the rest of the living world.
All these so called geniuses in this world, what ever happens to them once they grow up, finish school, and get out against the rest of the world?
