Some months back I had a financial capacity assessment from a psychologist to see if I had mental capacity to manage my own money, for past 5 years social services have managed my finances. After the assessment she said she needs to consult a higher psychologist and they’ll come to a decision together and she’ll write her report.
I heard from my community nurse this afternoon and they’ve made an appointment for me to see her on the 20th Nov at the intellectual disability team office with my community nurse also going.
Now if I’d passed that capacity assessment and they say I have capacity wouldn’t they just send a letter out telling me so?
I suspect I failed it and in their meeting they are going to fail me. I mean my community nurse has said he thinks I can lack capacity, even the psychologist wrote in another report she confirms I defiantly have an intellectual disability as I can repeat sentences but my comprehension isn’t good.
I want to ask - if I did have capacity wouldn’t they just send letter to say I have? Why the needs for appointment?
