I’ve sometimes had issues remembering where I placed things, even when I was younger. Some of that might just be absent mindedness. Sometimes you just set things down absent of thought, running on autopilot and thereby don’t remember what you did with them. So, I personally wouldn’t consider that too serious. Of course, you know better than me if it’s out of character I guess.
Remembering if you brushed your teeth(a process that you are much less likely to do on autopilot alone) sounds a little more like potential memory loss to me. Anyway, those are my thoughts on it. Good luck @Wave .

There is no try, there is do or not to do. But then again, theirs what is due, and not due. Off course there is always, doo doo. I forgot where I put my leopard skin pill box hat – have you seen it?
My memory was horrible on Lamictal, like really really bad. I was on 300mg for about 4-5 years & I’ve heard that a lot of people experience this - including those that take it for epilepsy.
Talk to your doctor, although it might just be the adjustment period for now.
I didn’t come off Lamictal due to the memory issues specifically, it was mostly due to poor daily functioning - which was caused by the memory issues.
Forgetting were I’ve placed things, unable to follow cooking recipes or studying without double checking everything a thousand times, hard times planning & things like that.
It hindered my ability to study, but I could’ve managed life on Lamictal if I didn’t have to study.
It was pain - I could’ve managed if my life was different - but it was better for me to go off it.
If I remember what I’ve read correctly & what I’ve been told by doctors: upping the dose can make it much worse & it can take a while before it levels out.
Ask your doctor what he/she says about it & probably give it some time to see if it gets better.
But be clear about the memory issues & if they are causing distress.
On the bright side, it will resolve itself by switching to something else if you & your doc can find something that isn’t the Depakote.
