Hey peeps. My pdoc prescribed me 25mg promethazine as prn for sleep. Does or did anyone else here take it? It’ll be delivered to my home in a bit. I didn’t want to take quetiapine because it’s too weak for me and it also inhibits SERT.
So… yeah. =P

For a period it was the only drug that made me able to sleep.
And there are very few sideeffects compared to other similar drugs.

Took a 25mg pill yesterday. Felt nothing but just a little dry mouth. I’ll keep watching the next time I need it. Otherwise I need to increase the dose. The recommended dose for sleep is 25 - 50 mg anyway.
Also luckily no hangover.

Promethazine 50mg do jack for me still. I’ll prolly ask for either Mirtazapine or Zyprexa. Quetiapine also does jack other than that 75mg sedate me for a few mins and then I’m fully awake.
I don’t understand what’s wrong with me. If H1 blockage doesn’t work then I guess I have to take benzos prn
Beware that a smaller dose of Mirtazapine might make you sleep better than a high dose.
I sleep well on 7,5 mg and not sot good due to an activating mechanism on 15 mg.
But every person reacts individual

Apparently I need “heavier sedation” to even feel something. Let’s hope either will do whatever she chooses!
