Starting Quetiapine tonight, wish me luck

I will be taking 50mg Quetiapine (2 X 25mg instant release).
I have been on Chlorpromazine for the last 2 years, but it makes me feel as if I haven’t slept for a couple of days, I am fed up with feeling tired all the time.

For some people quetiapine is very sedating. Personally, I didn’t think it was having any effect on me for a long time. Then I forgot to get six needed doses of quetiapine in my med tray, and before I realized what was happening I was quite a bit more jittery than I cared to be. Ziprazidone and quetiapine have been a good drug combination for me.

I’m on quetiapine and find it really helpful. Although at the moment I think it needs increasing but I get on really well with it.

Seroquel has worked great for me and sleep  I hope it works the same for you! It does make my dreams very very vivid though.

I was on Queitiapine for years before i started the Paliperdone Jab. Had to come off it tho as it was doing strange things with my pancreas. Almost wish i was back on it - i miss the quality 12hrs of sleep i got off it. Good luck tho!

Quetiapine didn’t make me feel tired at all, I have been awake since 3am.
I am not prescribed it for sleep anyway, it is to calm my brain down.
I think that I have desensitized my H1 receptors in my brain, due to being on antipsychotics for over 12 years.
I like how Quetiapine makes my brain feel, and long term I think it will be a good medication for me.

Good luck @Simonw!
