Problems with cameras? (Could be a trigger)

Does anyone else feel this unbearable feeling that they are being watched? I have a huge problem with cameras. I truly believe that they are everywhere and it’s a huge problem for me. I’ve thought there was a camera put in my room three years ago and I haven’t even undressed in my own room for three years. When I go places (on the rare occasion) I think I’m being recorded. It’s literally everywhere I go I feel that they are there. I feel like all of my privacy is gone. I can’t even do much with my phone or computer unless the webcam is covered up but then I stil believe that someone can still see me!! I’ve thought two of my neighbors were recording me and still believe it. Is anyone else like this? Meds don’t help me with this. And btw, I don’t feel I’m so important that I need to be watched I just can’t help it it’s like my brain just thinks this way and I can’t get around it.

I feel that way all the time. After several years you get used to it. I don’t care anymore, let them watch.

I don’t like it but I don’t let myself think about it too much, either.

Most places we go, we ARE being recorded. Security camera footage is extremely common. It’s just that most people don’t seem to seem to even think about it. Shopping in general is a real pain, the fluorescent lighting trips me out, people everywhere, noises everywhere, everything is so damned bright and obnoxious, and then yeah there are security cameras watching so it’s just a trippy atmosphere in general.

And yeah there are cases where employees put cameras in places they shouldn’t like dressing rooms, which is illegal but that doesn’t mean it never happens.

And even with stuff like Windows 10 some of that crap is creepy, I disable it but still tape over the webcam thing.

So I think a lot of it has to do with how much anxiety people get about these things. Feeling like you are being watched by cameras in public isn’t a crazy feeling, since we are being watched most of the time. Hell go play with Google Earth and look up statistics on being caught on satellite, times per day on average, etc. But again it seems most people don’t get anxiety about these things while some do.

As far as anxiety crossing the line into delusion, there are examples of that, but being paranoid that you’re being recorded in public is not paranoia IMO because you are recorded a lot in public. Everyone is. But the anxiety from it is what makes things hard.

Well it’s not just in public, I feel there are cameras in my house and in my car and just everywhere. I feel like neighbors record me when I go outside I can’t escape it.
I have gotten used to that uncomfortable feeling but it still is exhausting all the stress it gives me. I feel like there’s a special investigation happening about me. Ugh i hate my brain.

That sounds more like paranoid delusion then, yeah. I get a similar feeling but it’s a supernatural theme as opposed to cameras. I have to do a lot of reality testing, grounding, etc or otherwise just get so exhausted that I cease actively caring about it.

Are u ever able to just turn it off and have the thought disappear or talk urself out of it. Because I believe what’s happening here with me with every ounce in me. I literally don’t know how to think differently. Idk how to feel about this like there’s no hope for me

I have methods but they are probably not considered healthy, and I don’t want to encourage unhealthy behaviors in others. If you can get where I’m coming from on that. I’m currently looking into some treatments for OCD to see if I can apply them for some of what I experience, though.

Oh ok hm that sounds interesting

it is just a delusion…trust me…i have been doing this a long time
take care :alien:

I try to talk myself out of it but it seems nearly impossible to ignore. I can say ok this is my illness but it doesn’t work.
I really appreciate evryones response though. Just letting another person know helps in itself. I feel you can’t just bring this up in conversation to a “normal” person.

I also think that I am being watched and listened to virtually constantly even in the bathroom. I have gotten to the point that I just let it go. They have been watching me for YEARS since long before I even knew they were there so they have already seen it all. It bugs me but there is nothing I can do about it except take my meds and try not to think about it.

I had a time when I thought my landlord was video taping me from across the street. I had a mirrored wardrobe and I figured he could see my reflection in that. I worked out all the angles of line of sight then rearranged all my furniture.

That didn’t get rid of the feeling so I closed my curtains for two weeks. Ended up taking down the smoke detectors cos I thought they were taping me.

Is not a nice feeling.

Proof is in the pudding, I suppose. My ex did have cameras in the house as well as outside ‘security’ ones, and I could always tell when they were on when he was home by the way he acted around me- he actually asked if I needed help cooking dinner-then wanted to help me wash the dishes-hahaha, get real.

He’s shown me ways to record people and track vehicles with the computer way before it became mainstream- then had the nerve to call me paranoid when I accused him of using it on me.

@Butterfly30 no I haven’t seen you online

I have the same problem. I always feel like there are invisible cameras wherever I go, watching my movements. I believe the demons control the government, and together they are working to follow and monitor me and control my thoughts. But I resist.

I used to be scared of them, but now I have my own security cameras I feel less scared and if they are watching it is them that have a problem not me, kinda like facing your fears

Hello!

I Too Have This Problem. I feel like someone is watching me wherever i go. i cover up the cameras on my devices, and i make anything like a stuffed animal, or a doll, or even a little action figure or porcelain figure face the wall because i feel like they have cameras in there eyes. this is very scary.
