Okay so Bella didn’t work out but I have high hopes for this new dog but I am unable to take him home until he has surgery to take his eye out (he has a really bad eye infection and is blind in that eye) he has surgery scheduled for Wednesday and after that I’ll be able to take him home! He weighs 15 lbs and is super cute! He is also really friendly and doesn’t seem to mind cats and that’s a big thing since my mom has a 10 year old cat! He loves hugs (you should see him when he gets hugged! That tail just thumps as fast as it can!) And he loves being on my lap and just seems perfect! I traveled an hour and a half to meet him today and he is awesome! I will be paying $70 for him so wish me luck!
Good luck! Send us pics! I love dog pics!
@Bowens thanks! I’ll be sure to post pics after I get him! I’ll also make sure to @ you so you can see him!
Yay, congrats on finding him! Can you @ me, too? When you have pics?
@Blossom thank you! Of course!
Have you guys thought about fostering dogs for a bit? It might be a better fit, since you will need to see how a new dog interacts with your cat before knowing for sure that you can keep them. And this way, the shelter would be able to be prepared for the possibility that the dog might need a different forever home and be able to start looking/making room in the shelter.
He sounds like a great dog!
Once upon a time… me and my mum took a dog from a shelter. We had to do a trial period of 1 week. Only after that we could sign the papers and take ownership. Hugo died a couple of years ago. Still miss that dog.
@Ninjastar because normally small dogs go up for adoption almost as soon as the shelters get them or that’s how it is here, the only reason this dog isn’t yet is he had to gain weight so he could get surgery and no one wants to wait for him not to mention not many people want a one eyed dog around here.
@anon21849028 thank you
@TheFountainPen they don’t have that kind of program around here

So the one eyed dog fell through but I’m not surprised at all the humane society that had him was acting really scratchy but not all is bad! I actually found a dog that had been socialized with cats, dogs, horses, emus, you name it! He came mostly potty trained and he’s only gotten better since we got him on Sunday! He gets along with the cat and loves being petted and such and he’s a sweet heart! I’m sad I couldn’t get the other dog but at least I got Oscar! He’s about 1 year old, 10 lbs with long hair as you will soon see! We think he’s a jack Russell terrier!!! Without further ado here is the doggo of the hour! Oscar!!!
Btw these pictures were taken on Sunday right after driving 2 hours and paying $100 for him to be sure he was slightly trained and use to different people and animals he’s awesome only made 2 or 3 messes so I’m proud of him!
Congratulations on the new pupper!!! He is super cute.
Looks like a Jack Russel mix.
My guess is he’s between a Jack Russel and Shitzu.
Congratulations @Twialine!
Oscar is adorable!
Or maybe a Jack Russel/Papillon mix
Congrats on the new fur baby! I’m glad you found a good fit! Yay!
Yay! Your Jack and my Jack Russells
Hope you enjoy each others company!
