So, when I got sectioned I was placed in a state run NHS hospital - it was ■■■■ - locked up with crazy people, crap food and only a pool table to play with
I got placed into seclusion, and then there was no bed space when it was time for me to leave seclusion
Because of this the NHS paid for me to stay in a private hospital in Harrogate, Yorkshire
The private hospital was awesome. Lovely building, great food, kind staff
It was like a hotel with pills
Cleaners used to come and clean your room everyday and make your bed
They even had a rule that you couldn’t enter the dining area in pyjamas or tracksuit bottoms
I recovered greatly whilst I was in the private hospital - they even took me out and I ate Nando’s with one of the nurses
There are no private mental hospitals in my country. In my country hospitals you are allowed to be only in hospital’s pyjamas or in a tracksuit. Also some hospitals have unlimited smoke breaks, others limit to 6 or 8 times a day. Some strict hospitals dont allow you to go outside. Food is varied through the hospitals. Huge hospitals that are in major cities provide good food, but limited smoking breaks, low key hospitals provide low key bedding, bad food but unlimited smoking breaks
