Practicing the Positive

What do you do, if anything, to maintain a positive frame of mind? Do you count your blessings, do you have a mantra, are there techniques that you use? I’m always curious to learn more from others’ experience

I need energy to have a positive frame of mind.

So the things that help for me are exercise and ADs and coffee!

Excellent point, nothing helps me more than exercise

I just keep going forward trying my best not to get stuck in my past. I practice these three principles which are that I have a mind, from this mind springs forth consciousness, within consciousness I have thoughts and I have the ability to allow these thoughts to simply pass through my consciousness and not to hold onto them. I’m not the best but I’m not the worst either.

It’s funny you say that, I do the same thing. Thoughts are like clouds, and my mind is the sky. Some are disturbing, some are a little ■■■■■■ up. But they pass

And then I’m back to “normal” LOL

I’m not really religious, but I count my Blessings almost every night. Both in my head and out loud.

I just have the mindset that there are a lot of people who have it way worse than I do.

Like people living on the streets, or who are addicted to terrible drugs like meth and heroin.

My life has been really hard, but I have a lot of people who love me and care about my well-being.

Sometimes I just have to get the heck out. I’ve run out of the ability to cope.

If I can I surrender to the other person. I thought I was being a pushover but people call me a gentleman.

Believe! The good counts more than the bad. Good is everywhere. We can see that. So, now let’s believe that! If we get negative thinking then let’s counteract it with the positive. And by practicing, get better and better over time.

This is very true. By practice gratitude, and working on having a healthier frame of mind, it makes the bad days slide off my back so much easier. And puts me back on my feet faster. Thanks for pointing that out

Good physical self-care: sleep, diet, exercise, nature, massage, staying warm and clean. If my body feels good, my outlook is a lot more positive too.
Play, dance, music, humour.
Being around nice people, and being nice to people myself - setting clear boundaries is nice too. I like the expression “soft front, hard back”.
Focusing on the small things around me, instead of worldwide drama that I can’t influence.
Prayer and religious singing, and gratefulness in that.
Gratefulness journaling.
Reading positive quotes and putting them in my home.
Fighting for things, instead of against things.
