I take artane for T.D…!!! Which med do u take @anon47866227…!!!

@far_cry0 I took pramipexole 0.5mg for 15 days.

Don’t experiment with meds.

I am going to stop pacitane which I am taking for EPS from tomorrow.

My dyskinesic movements stopped within a few days after I was put on pramipex.

As I said before don’t experiment with drugs on your own.

Ok friends. here is the deal. when dealing with TD, talk with your pdoc, primary care doctor , neurologist and Movement disorder specialist. Last two will be most helpful. This is almost treatable condition when addressed early.

Any of you guys. Does your TD go away in sleep? Please let me know. mine wakes me up from sleep. Wondering what is it.

Also: if drugs you are taking for prevention or treatment of TD is temporary or we need to take it for life?
does your TD come and go and only when it shows up one need to take medicine?

Thanking in advance

hi geeknoid,

do you still take pacitane or pramipex after your TD movements are gone? or you stopped taking that med after sympoms are gone?

Was this the first time you received treatment for TD?

Thanking in Advance,

EPS stands for extrapyramidal side effects. TD is an extrapyramidal side effect.

neurologist? can’t the pdoc prescribe meds for TD?

what has been your exp with them(pdoc) so far? they unfortunately do not know much about movement disorders.
There are doctors who specialize in movement disorders (mostly neurologist) or neurologist. They will do MRI of your brain etc. I have appointment with neurologist today. will update about how it goes.

Hope your TD improves.

I told my doc about my involuntary movements of my tongue and jaws but said nothing… perhaps she doesn’t know.

You have involuntary movements of your tongue and jaw?
And your psychiatrist is doing nothing about it?

This sounds like TD!!
It has to be quickly treated!

I would seriously consider seeing another doctor @Om_Sadasiva.

This is dangerous!

really? it could be dangerous? I will tell her the name of it so she maybe understands. I will tell her I probably have tardive dyskinisia and see how she will respond.

Well yeah, dangerous in the sense that your condition could get worse and progress.
TD should be treated right away.

Good luck @Om_Sadasiva.
Hope everything works out for you!

my Neurologist ordered 48 hours EEG for my nightly only movements. My TD is very mild and occurs only at night except for blinking eyes. He said best thing is to go away from drug that started it, which I have already done. He also said sooner you find out and act better are the results in this disorder.
