I’m trying to decide if I can live without so many choices. Currently I have subscriptions to iHeart and Pandora, (but I’m letting my mom use Pandora at the moment)…and I use both Spotify and Tidal…Tidal has some albums not available on Spotify and vice versa. I have an account with Napster, but mom uses that one more than me, and tech. she pays for it…it’s just in my name. I’ve tried iTunes and Amazon music and not really satisfied with either…but they’re both streaming services so I thought I’d add them…this is my first poll and am not quite sure what I’m doing with it.
Pandora hands down
Spotify hands down
I’ve had Rdio, Deezer, and Tidal, and they all were pretty poor compared to Spotify
I used to use Rdio but can’t find them any more.
They got either bought and shut down, or just shut down
I do like that Spotify changed their limit, now you can just add albums, even if you hit the old 3,333 limit
But they don’t have Beyonce’s Lemonade album, nor do they have anything from Taylor Swift or anything I like by Prince.
Really? That’s cool but I doubt I’d download more than 3333
I listen to albums all the way through, or make car ride playlists. I’m OCD about my music and how it’s organized
Jay z took his best albums down bc he owns tidal
I usually do listen to albums all the way through, it bugs me when I get look at my last played in my iTunes library and the whole album doesn’t appear…which is why sometimes I’ll turn to youtube to listen to a specific song…it just bugs me so much. I’ve tried turning off the Last-played sort feature but I find myself always turning it back on…I kind of like both Tidal and Spotify that they dont’ really play last songs. I get annoyed sometimes though when Spotify will desplay last played artist and I only listened to like one or two songs by the artists…Tidal doesn’t do that as far as I know, they just let you favorite artist. But they don’t have a lot of soundtrack scores, dark ambient music, or new age music that I like to listen to.
I heard Taylor Swift was in dispute with Spotify because she did’t like the artist cuts they offered her for allowing her music to be played. I’m sure that’s why Beyonce’s album Lemonade is on Tidal and not Spotify since her husband owns it.
I get frustrated about that type of stuff too, like I always try to start with Track 1 and go in a linear order but I almost never enjoy the first track and want to skip , but when I do I get all anxious lol
I don’t mind if I play the tracks in order, some albums I turn on shuffle and just play all the tracks at random, sometimes it throws tracks off when you do that, like some artists have “intro” tracks into songs. I know Destiny’s child for one on their Writings on the wall each rule came at the end of the previous song…like at the end of So Good Beyoncé says, thou shall pay bills which takes you into the song Bills, Bills, Bills…it’s a running theme on that album. Janet Jackson’s notorious for having like 5- 30 second clips before each song that leads you into the next track… albums like those can be pretty hard for me to listen on shuffle.
