Problem is finding a very stable moderator with SZ.
I have no problems with the moderator in question and seems to have our best interest at heart.

I think it was about the old chat room moderators.
Oh ok only logged on and a bit weak today ( I think Iām suffering a virus)
Anyway still takes someone very stable to do it. More so with the stress of dealing with real time.
I think the current szadmin is doing a very good job, donāt want to change this
Thanks for posting the poll. For integrity of the results, I didnāt voteā¦
I just wanted to say before being anything else we all are humans first. If I am not in pain, suffering or sorrow today, can someone in this world say this with certainty that I wonāt be in distress in the future. We all need help and support at some point in life. How would I give hope to someone when I donāt have any. Those who help others despite of having distress in their lives, are very few great people. They are usually rare!
Hey everyone!I hope it is ok for me to jump in here.I canāt tell you how much this forum has helped me understand my son.Iāve read numerous books that were helpful but nothing compared to human experience. My son isnāt really old enough to verbalize well what he is experiencing.Reading various posts really helps me āget itā.This site has given me hope for the future and an awareness of struggles to come. There are many wonderful people on here that have much to offer the world(even if they donāt realize this yet).I appreciate everyoneās honesty and openness in telling their story.
Yeah that post made me happy thatās what weāre here for. This illness is just ridiculously tough, but people need to be reminded that it does get better and easier. People do manage to live with it and even reverse it.
I think that for the most part, the non schizophrenics that regularly post here, show a genuine interest in schizophrenia.
As long as you are respectful and follow the guidelines and rules of this site, you should be fine.
If you ask me I am more concerned with the anti medication crowd on here that vehemently opposes taking psych meds, and does everything in their power to persuade others to get off of their meds.
To me this is unacceptable - these posts should be deleted in my opinion.
I am also opposed to those members that feed their warped sense of reality/beliefs onto other members that are struggling with delusions, and are asking for some support - help or consoling. This too is unacceptable.
I do not have pure SZ or schizophrenia - In the past I was diagnosed with SZ and schizoffective - and probably have some schizoprenia mixed in with my bipolar disorder.
I take the same meds - face the same struggles and challenges - deal with some of the same symptoms, but my diagnosis is bipolar type 1 wit psychotic features - There are a lot of similarities between bipolar type 1 and SZ -
I choose to stay on this site because this is frankly the best mental illness site on the web.
I do like the fact that non schizophrenic members are welcomed here - I especially like the fact that family members
and loved ones come here, this is a public site that includes many different people.
This site is vitally important for non schizophrenic, especially carers. The more the merrier I say.
Hey Snowy - So you are saying that only those with a SZ/SZA diagnosis should be able to post on the Diagnosis section?
It would be almost impossible to enforce this - besides, there are many neurotypicals on here that do get it, and have been helpful.
I really do see your point - although I am in favor of neurotypicals posting on here - I have seen some giving unrealistic advice to those afflicted with a severe mental illness. But I do know what you mean
Myself prefer theyād crack down on people posting under the influence of recreational drugs and alcohol.
Those are good points. I stayed on here despite losing the schizoaffective dx because I could identify with some of the symptoms though maybe experienced at a less intense level. Paranoia-check, delusions-according to the pdocs check, weird/unusual thoughts- have experienced them -check, loud/intrusive thoughts that are hard to distinguish from voices- have experienced them-check, negative symptoms-check, difficulties on a social level-check.
I share the same symptoms - My delusions when manic or mixed can be way out there
I can understand saying you donāt have the dx but as for saying you donāt relate; given shared symptoms across diagnoses, and the possibility of having some symptoms but not enough for a dx, is that always strictly true?
What about people who have symptoms but havenāt yet seen a pdoc? I know I had questions in my prodrome that I might have asked, but oh well I guess Iād have to go full blown psychotic to be sick enough to post a question to satisfy some people.
Sorry but I think the notion of card-carrying sz enforcement a little silly. Canāt be enforced, and easy enough to ignore posts you donāt agree with.
