It’s true what they say. If you plan your meals and shopping in tandem then you cut down on food waste and save money.
@Gollum I am trying to lose weight, so I use an online app to log my meals for an entire week, to make sure I stay in my calorie range. I use the meal plans to make my grocery list, so now I never overbuy. It really helps save money, you’re right!
I shopped online for groceries for years. But then, the store started charging a $10 service charge for each grocery order. It used to be only $5 and it was free if the amount was over $100. I think that is a huge rip off. I live right across the street from a discount grocery store. So, now, I walk across the street and shop for groceries. I save a lot of money that way. I don’t own a car.
It’s only dad and I now so we go out everyday so just pick up the necessities for the day. Not totally organised but we do many little shops. These days I walk up the road to the grocery for some exercise so it doesn’t even cost anything.
I just don’t need the service but if it was available and matched our lifestyle I wouldn’t hesitate to use it.
