This is a tough one. I feel like a lot of modern rap is garbage but there are really good electro-pop groups like Chvrches doing neat things.
I relate to that. There are some really good bands out there. Some of the best music are underrated and unknown performers.
im quite the opposite, i hate listening to the same songs over and over again that are 20 or 30 years old or older. i like modern music, but not pop.
Both, obviously. I’ve been listening to quite a few new black metal bands, particularly recent developments in the atmospheric and depressive-suicidal niches.
Exactly! Sometimes it takes a little digging, but the underground is always ripe with fresh talent.
I found this guy by a fluke, really:
I love 90’s music, like Smashing Pumpkins I think that’s 90s. Lately I’m listening to Electronica, Classical, and 90’s alt./Indie acoustic Girl Bands, and Punk bands. I also like Goth/Metal/Scify metal like Covenant, and I really like Depeche Mode. I collect vinyl records. I got my brother Mud Honey by Radiohead for his birthday and a Gorillaz album. Searching for anything rare, but currently the best albums I have: Sleater Kinney, Portishead, Beatles, Radiohead Ok Computer, Tool, and Depeche Mode three albums by Depeche Mode, and three by the Beatles. I love music so much. I really wish I had more of a record collection. Maybe I will start truly collecting vinyl records.
I’ve heard this song. It’s so pretty.
I was at this concert. In the very last row. I absolutely love Bright Eyes. Actually wearing the band t-shirt from the concert is what got me kicked out of Catholic school.
I have been listening to an underground indie artist. Sarah Fimm.
I’m not a fan of rap, I grew up on more old school rock, metal and Folk. Having said that, I’ve seen a couple of bands where they were actually live musicians playing with the rapper, and they were quite good. This earns my respect every time
hmm, i wonder whats next. spill metal bands or unrap the music bands. anyway. if it wasn’t for change. we’d all be hearing buddy.
Beatles are #1. I can tolerate everyone else.
I enjoy a lot of lady Gaga’s songs. And some other new pop songs.
Always been lots of off the grid or alternative music that is so worthwhile. Doesn’t get played much on radio but you find a good radio station you stick with it.
I’m lucky. We have a great alternative ex university radio station over here in Brisbane. 4ZZZ and it’s amazing. They have lots of inclusive shows so there’s genre…metal/punk/country even etc and even stuff like gay/lesbian/feminist…It really plays a lot of great music and as someone who still buys digital music to give back to artists It’s great. Have a listen. They stream.
I think that it is intelligence matter.
There were studies of large groups of highscool students, and they shown what kind of music intelligent people listen.
I might offend someone,but it isn’t rap…or metal.
What’s bother me more are bossanova covers of Stairway to Heaven,Light my fire etc.
Music is defined, and it must have rhytm, melody and harmony.
I’m sorry, but today’s music just plain sucks. No one knows how to write their own music or lyrics. Their voices are dubbed or corrected. The lyrics are uninspiring and often about either sex, money or both. They have backing tracks played to their songs or the music that is written is what a 3 year old could produce if given enough time in front of a toy xylophone.
I dont listen to anything after the early 2000s much but i have found some good music from modern underground bands.
I like a mixture
