What criteria for ‘individuality’ are being used?
Whole-to-Part : Where someone asserts that what is true of something as a whole must also be true of each of its parts. This is the reverse of the part-to-whole fallacy. Ex homosapiens as a group constituted of individual groups with their own customs and traditions.
Weak Analogy : Where someone claims that some items which have only a few minor similarities are practically the same in almost everything else. Ex between individuals and groups.
I’m not using a rigorous definition, for one no fully satisfactory definition exists. But my interest here is mostly sociological, “individuality”, at least the way it is s intuitively understood today, is neither universal or ahistorical.
There is a lot on google of the myth of individuality. I could copy paste all day and create arguments.
I do have to insist, you’re completely missing the point of this exercise. No syllogism is being offered, and the premises contained in the statement don’t need to be true for the answers - offered as part of a poll, which should be a giveaway- to provide valid data. You seem desperate to talk the talk but all you’re offering are at best truisms no is questioning and at worst haughtily delivered platitudes. I won’t be engaging with you any further, too much attitude and too little substance.
