I asked Google this morning if it was there, and it responded would I like to chat. It then told me a poem it read. I thanked Google and went on my way.

I dont care if they are watching me, I do stuff that everyone else does… and I’m not special.

It bothers more that Facebook is on phone to be honest. Interactions on my phone I had somewhat of an expectation of privacy. I posted recently how they had listed my guitar instructor in my “people you may know”. This means it’s likely they are tracking everyone that messages me and possibly even calls me.
I expected the google tracking of search inquires. Did not expect phone monitoring so much.

Yeah @Bowens . It’s ridiculous. I don’t like being tracked like that. Someone could even hack into it and get all kinds of info on people. I hate that

It’s an honor to me that google is watching me. Sometimes I get weird suggested videos on YouTube but apart from that I don’t care. I love tech and google algorithms.

I don’t care much that they are watching me but it does bother me somewhat that they are watching people in general.

They are not watching as closely as we think. When I was in psychosis I used to think that everything I typed in Google was being watched by FBI so I’d type specific crazy things as if I was communicating with them directly

No. It used to. But ultimately I see as a trade off.
Are you happy to give up everything google/iOS related to be free from them keeping tabs on you?
For me, its far too convenient, and sometimes crucially important to give up.
Plus its not like I’m hiding anything illegal anyways.

It bothers me, but google is the only good company i got. It doesn’t threaten me, its polite and let me know what i am asking for.

You can turn those permissions off. Just dig into the security/privacy sections

Yeah, I got my dentist in my people you might now. The only way I can think of that happening is that they tracked me phoning the dentist office, or my payment by card to the dentist.

I would be more concerned if i lived in china. What with the social score thing happening.
My main worry is about 20 or 30 years from now. When my data is still floating around in cyberspace. I can guarantee i will have lost track of all my old emails and passwords and accounts and stuff by then and i worry itll come back to bite me with new tech inventions somehow.
But i guess i dont really have to worry too much since i dont do anything shady online except for watching pornhub sometimes.
