I’ve decided to get a portable DVD player with screen for Christmas. I bought a DVD player I never used. I want to watch foreign movies close up so I can see the subtitles.

In my humble opinion there’s something special about owning the physical copy of a movie. On a streaming service you don’t necessarily own the movies, and if the streaming service loses the rights to host that movie it can be taken down at any time.

My favorite format is DVD, but I also collect VHS and Bluray movies.

I like everything digital

You can watch/listen to things you may not take a chance on otherwise

No agonising on whether to pay £10 for a CD or £15 for a blue ray

Rarely.

Everything’s digital now.

I have dvd’s, because a lot of movies actually aren’t available to stream. If you are into movies physical media might be the only option to aquire certain movies. Also I think it’s leisurely to just pop in a disc at my convenience. The player I have remembers where I am in the movie if I stop it and come back to it, even if I power off the player.

I have some cd’s that I’m currently ripping to put on my mp3 player. Buying second hand cd’s is a cheap way to aquire digital music legally if you are interested in most of what’s on the album.

Then there’s the vinyl. I find the sound is better. I prefer hearing a side of vinyl where you get natural breaks every 20 minutes or so. I like the big cover art and that lyrics are often included. I enjoy the physical aspect of changing vinyls in the player.

That’s it :slightly_smiling_face:
