I just got my blu ray movie collection from my parents, it has been sitting there for over 10 years. I want to start collecting again, blu rays and 4k blu rays. I’ve heard the sound quality is noticeable better compared to streaming. It’s also cool to own a movie, and sometimes there’s special features that are not on streaming.
It may even be a good idea to have hard copies because is the internet really that reliable? Could be taken away from us
You think so? I have never thought about that.
Yeah I’m very worried all the time though
You can be the guy with all the movies if we have to live under ground cause of nuclear bombs.
I used to buy DVDs for movies, when I was younger and when the disks were still the fashion, many years ago. Now I mainly use the internet to watch all I want to watch on different websites.
Had quite a good collection over the years, all 80’s 90’s stuff. But will all the moves, when my housing wasnt stable, they all got slowly nicked or destroyed.
Ive bought quite a few back tho on prime video and sky.
i bought some external hdds but dropped a couple and lost everything, but haven’t had a problem with these transcend shock proof ones and store all my downloaded movies on these instead:
I have had these for quite a few years now and they haven’t let me down.
It is a lot easier to store space wise on these, and current torrents have 5.1 surround sound these days too.
I have DVDs that i buy cheaply from the pawn shop…since i don’t have internet except on my phone, i rely heavily on physical formats. I also have some Xbox and Nintendo games in physical form.
I stopped collecting physical media. Takes too much space and it’s a nightmare when you have to move. I’m trying to downsize so my kid has less crap to deal with when I shuffle out the door of this plane of existence.
I prefer digital these days. It has its pros and cons. As mentioned…it takes up less space which is a plus. On the other hand if internet was to go down I would loose it all.
Thanks for posting this man, I can think of a few photography applications. I’ve been struggling with what to shoot over the Dead Season.
You know what? When I put this up I thought to myself shutterbug may like this haha
I collected quite a few comics, mainly tpb’s and deluxe hardcovers, very few single issues
I collect movies and games. Love having the physical copy to hold. And much prefer it to a digital license or paying for multiple streaming services.
I collect vinyl LP’s. I buy my music on vinyl and maybe also digitally. I don’t use Spotify or any other thing like that. I think a music album is a whole experience that needs to be heard in correct order.
In vinyl I prefer the sound quality and I love to see cover art.
