PIP update and change circumstances of circumstances

Today, I updated my PIP claim and made them aware that my circumstances have changed since my last claim.

I informed them that I am no longer able to walk with out a walking cane and cannot stand up for long periods without severe pain. I also need to have toilet facilities close by ,due to Type 2 Diabetes and the need to urine frequently.

I also have to remain seated when getting dressed and struggle with great difficulty getting out the bath. am finding getting about very challenging and taking me longer reach my destination.

My life has changed since the beginning of June. But still intend to go to all my support groups and get on with life.

Does anyone else in the group have mobility issues and are currently claiming PIP? Now it’s the stressful part waiting for the to make a decision.

Thanks for reading my post

I’m sorry for your recently increasing struggles. I’m not in UK so no PIP. I am on SSDI which is based on the amount you worked and earned prior to disability.

I also have Schizophrenia and type 2 diabetes, but I do not have mobility issues.

I have had mobility issues since my falls in October 2021. Things were undoubtedly made worse than they should’ve been by being told the pain was purely psychological, and not getting an x ray which showed I’d broken my left femur till 7 weeks later. Despite a partial hip replacement I still get quite a lot of pain if standing up for more than a short amount of time. Added to this is rheumatoid arthritis and the fact I have premature osteoporosis. Whereas just my left leg was playing up now my right leg also plays up and causes me quite bad pain.
