Personality Disorder Diagnosis?

I have the Sza diagnosis plus Borderline Personality Disorder, mostly cuz I self-mutilate at times with burns and I used to be a cutter.

I think the BPD diagnosis hurts me when I try to get help for Sz symptoms cuz the doctors always seem to dismiss my complaints as “attention-seeking” behavior. When I am feeling suicidal cuz of Voices or paranoia, they write it off as borderline “ideation”.

Does anyone else here have a secondary personality disorder diagnosis? Do you find it makes getting treatment for Sz symptoms more difficult?

I don’t have a personality disorder but I feel for you having a dual dx of tough things to manage.

I have a diagnosis of a personality disorder.
Quite often there is a personality disorder to go with a mental disorder.
