I was just talking to my father. I was trying to explain to him why I don’t do things. For example work, take showers, volunteer, and exercise. I know he is trying to help. I remember when I first got depressed, when I was laying in bed…my father would kick the door open and saying something like, “what are you doing”?

I can understand you because my father comes from another generation where mental illness was kind of taboo and was just told by everyone " Aye, get over it" But it is a process and sometimes people can understand it and sometimes people will dismiss it because they don’t understand the grade of pain one is in. I hope I made sense, but I understand you and I’m here to listen.
