Yeah he said it could work for mood and psychosis and it’s not supposed to make me sleepy or cause weight gain so I’ll try it why not. I know I didn’t want to try any new meds but I wasn’t thinking psychosis wise. Only issue I have is vraylar is supposed to be “activating” and I’ve not had a good experience w activating meds, as in they cause me horrific levels of anxiety to where I basically need to be on a benzo every day to manage it. But who knows maybe this one will be different. I should know very quickly. He said take it in the morning so my first dose will be tomorrow.
Good luck @Anna
Hope you feel better
im very hesitant at the notion of “wont cause weight gain” with any medicine that isnt an actual stimulant. i always hear about abilify being weight neutral but ■■■■ amped up my appetite and made me gain 30 pounds
Yeah I remember abilify gave me killer hunger but I took a B vitamin w it and it went away so I didn’t gain weight on it.
Idk so far I’ve been pretty typical when it comes to weight gain w meds like I’ve not gained on ones where it’s not common and gained on ones where it was common. Hopefully that trend keeps up and I don’t get any surprises.
I have gained so much weight on Vraylar but I am 43 with hypothyroidism. So Vitamin B helps keep the weight off?
I’ve been taking Vraylar for like 2 years. I’ve gained weight, but it’s my favorite AP.
Vraylar was way too stimulating for me and it didn’t work so I ended up in the psych hospital twice with psychosis.
BUT everyone reacts differently to these drugs.
Good luck @Anna.
No that was specifically for abilify me and @everhopeful found it helped reduce the hunger cravings for whatever reason.
Gosh I hope I don’t gain weight on vraylar…I really can’t afford any more weight gain I want to lose weight
I’m looking up info on it and it says it’s associated with weight gain I really don’t want to try anything that causes it
I feel the same way. I was already overweight. I hope it doesn’t have that effect on you.
I may try to lose some weight first before starting it
