What is paranoid psychosis diagnoses? Is it different from schizophrenia?
Some of the other members can answer this better then me.
Certain criteria needs to be met for a schizophrenia diagnoses so Iām guessing that maybe not all of them are being met so the diagnoses could be paranoid psychosis. Since both can have paranoia and psychosis symptoms then they may not be all that different except that paranoid psychosis may not have the negative symptoms that schizophrenia has.
Paranoia is a symptom - it is present in many different illnesses. There is Paranoid Personality Disorder but it is different than paranoid schizophrenia. Paranoia is almost always present when it comes to schizophrenia - antipsychotics and other meds can help quell down paranoia. Paranoia is not only limited to psychotic mental illnesses - I do know that it is sometimes present in my disorder - bipolar as well - I have experienced psychosis.
