Overcoming oneself

So what does it mean to “overcome oneself”? It refers to conquering and defeating that part of you that stops you from setting, striving and achieving your goals; that part of you that stops you from enjoying life and living it to its fullest.

Sometimes I just want a day off from myself but that’s impossible, I always feel I’m battling myself about something and I want to fix myself and my life and overcome oneself and start living

Hey! If you have a hobby that you like a lot it´s somewhat easy to look good overcoming oneself, especially if you enjoy the process…

That’s so true. Lately I’ve been angry at my lousy guitar playing and I still keep myself together. Patience with myself is good.

It´s confortable to know that if you take a break, you come back not only “not that bad” but with a new creative perspective…

A large part of it is identifying one’s bad habits and slowly replacing them with good habits. I say slowly because I’ve never seen anyone do it faster than at a snail’s pace. Including myself.

For me it’s laziness. I’m lazy as fu-ck. I can’t seem to engage my mind in to anything. I wanted to play Diablo 3 but I felt it takes too much effort. So I just lie here, on the couch. I’m lucky modern technology is available. At least I can browse this forum with my phone, listen to music through my Bluetooth headphones and have my tv on. Even though I’m not watching it.

If only my mind could wake up. I’m apathetic most of the time.

I think confidence and self- esteem means that you are free being who you are. Despite the situation. And that you keep learning even though you are doing mistakes, this without taking damage to your ego.

I don’t think there is only one thing that keeps us from striving. I have anxiety, it’s a huge hindrance for me. I also suffer from low self- esteem and confidence.

I consume a lot of caffeine and used to use a lot of stimulants. This was before onset of illness.

So the question is: What is keeping you from being and doing what you want to do?

Whirlwind barbarian. It´s the easiest/laziest build of all diablo 3. You can do all the content while watching tv or doing other things. Or you can simply, like I do, enjoy the midndless spam of greater rifts.

I haven’t started playing it yet.

Whirlwind barbarian?? Ok, I’ll check in to it when I start playing.

Ahh then I would suggest you to play w/e you like most. The story is really easy. Anyways you can change difficulty. I finished it in “easy” and went for endgame.

It´s a small, but nice community. A lot of people do hook you up for the first runs once you go to the endgame. They help you level to max level, get gear, etc.

Anything specific? Or is it this illness??

Mix of things habits, routines, negative symptoms, all need a change but it all starts with the mind
