A question for you all

Do you enjoy overcoming challenges or do you prefer things to be easy? Why?

I generally prefer things to be easy. Sometimes I “try” at something difficult for me like vacuuming or coloring and it ends in frustration and disappointment and my self esteem is in shambles. I generally don’t give myself big challenges anymore. I try to find “enough stress” activities that are just challenging enough to keep me busy throughout the day but mostly to keep me happy and doesn’t put white hairs on my head.

I like having an easy time of things, I prefer things to be quiet and not unnecessarily unpleasant, but challenge is good from time to time.

If life was so easy that you were doing it on autopilot, which I sometimes wish was a feature, it might lose some of it’s impact, but otherwise yeah I like having a good time without difficulty.

With my SZA disorder I need things to be as simple as possible.
Anything more and I’ll get stressed out, which means more symptoms.

I prefer things to be easy. Although I enjoy a challenge as well. I would not like a life of nothing but challenges. That would be too much stress for me. For instance, most of the things I do are super easy. But, the one thing I do that is a challenge is practice piano. And, I enjoy that challenge.

I need things to be as easy as possible or Il too get stressed out very easily and Il be much more prone to a mental breakdown. So I don’t work anymore but thankfully I get a check from the VA every month so I’m nearly stress free other than errons I gotta run which I absolutely hate doing but I got to unless I want to get even more stressed out.

It’s my opinion that, if you’re really motivated, hard things can seem easy. However, my expectations of easiness have gotten carried away.

To be totally honest, I prefer them to be easy because I’m lazy… I’d rather have my brain power going to things I’m interested in like the cosmos or neuroscience. I don’t want to spend twenty minutes of my day trying to figure out how to get a sofa into my house when I could be reading a book.

Also it depends on how you look at it, I’m making plans to build a desk for my new apartment. I could easily buy one but I’m interested in making it myself. Others would say that choice is “overcoming a challenge” as opposed to having it easy by buying but because I’m interested and enjoy doing that sort of thing it will be easy. Not necessarily physically easy but mentally easy if that makes sense.

I enjoy the satisfaction of overcoming a challenge but sometimes I wish things were easier. With everything in life I think there’s a balance. Unfortunately my life has been unbalanced.

I remember thinking 'man I want a challenge in life" right before I got sick Man I sure got a challenge. Now I’m the opposite. I don’t want a challenge anymore.
