Is recovery possible?
Do you visit a private doctor or a hospital psychiatrist?
Yes to an extent. Medications help most folk with the positives you just need to guard against negatives and depression.
I see a private shrink. He’s very good and lucky I ran into him when he was just starting out. He sees me and charges the government so I don’t pay a cent. I see him usually once every 6 weeks. I’m a good patient and am proactive with my treatment so it’s easy for both of us!
I’m in a program through a local clinic. I have a clinician that comes over for about an hour three times a week and we text through the week as needed. Then I see the psychiatrist every 6 weeks. It seems to be working for me for the most part. Haven’t been hospitalized in a year and a half.
I think it’d be a good idea to visit both from time to time. Doctors of medicine help heal the body, psychiatrists treat the mind or psyche. From what I have seen, recovery is always possible.
