Osteoarthritis advice

I have osteoarthritis, was taking Ibuprofen, and was getting along pretty good. My new GP doesn’t want me taking Ibuprofen, just Tylenol. I’m really having problems getting up in the morning now and am sore all the time.

Any suggestions other than NSAID?

I take hemp CBD (75mg) for my fibromyalgia & possible undiagnosed autoimmune arthritis. It helps a lot! If you do get some CBD, I recommend you get <0.3% THC. That’s just enough THC to “activate” the CBD, but nearly enough to get you high (like marijuana).

In my experience, the rubs are worthless. I get the gel caps. But tinctures are great, too!

Good luck with everything. :sunflower:

Tell your doc Ibuprofen worked better. Is there a reason why he doesn’t want you on ibuprofen. for example does it interact with other meds you’re on in a bad way, or does it have negative side effects on you?

I didn’t ask why she doesn’t want me using Ibuprofen. Thanks @Headspark

I have a few forms of arthritis and have a lot of relief with apple cider vinegar. You mix it with water and a bit of sweetener to make a drink similar to tart lemonade. I was surprised at how much it helped.

I have osteoarthritis all over my whole body. I used to take NSAID’S and they were very effective. But I took them everyday and they caused chronic kidney disease. So, now I can’t take them anymore. And Tylenol doesn’t work at all.

I have two things I use regularly that are very effective together: yoga and fish oil capsules.

About the yoga. I preach yoga everywhere I go because when I started doing it, I was in so much pain from my arthritis that I could barely get out of bed. But I didn’t give up.

I started out with early beginners yoga DVD’s and did those for 6 months. At the end of those 6 months, I was completely pain free. The catch was that I had to keep on doing the yoga. For at least 20 to 30 minutes, 4 to 5 times a week.

If you’re so stiff that you can’t quite handle beginners yoga, which is quite common, you can always find a popular Chair Yoga app or DVD. Chair yoga is every bit as effective as beginners yoga and feels just as good.
It’s just a lot easier.

Good luck and God bless.

I remember hearing that hydroxychloroquine was good for arthritis when Trump was promoting it as a cure for Covid-19. I don’t know if that applies here, but are there any other prescription drugs you can try?
