It gave me brain fog, sluggishness and both physical and mental fatigue. It took me like 10 years to figure it out, because there is no warning against it, only grape fruit they warn against which is another citrus fruit.
The last 6 years or so I have avoided it, and it is another life now, much better than it used to be.

meds help but you have to do the rest of the work yourself imo
Grapefruit juice is associated with the inhibition of Cytochrome P450 enzyme system, particularly the CYP3A4 enzyme
If you are thinking along the same lines that orange juice interferes with medication then it is a bit of a hasty generalization. If you are intelligent enough a little bit of information without understanding the mechanism can be dangerous. You brain can create all sorts of good and logical sounding reasons. Don’t be afraid to let go of ideas that no longer serve you.
A lot of things that I think are the case also end up being wrong. A lot of the time the smarter you are the more believable these ideas sound both to yourself and others. I find my brain plays ticks on me in this way a lot and that actually it shares the same mechanistic action as delusions.
It could be your blood sugar spiked, as it is full of sugar. Those are high blood sugar symptoms.

That’s a random thought but regardless cutting out orange juice can only be a good thing.
it may be that orange juice has similar cyp1a2 inhibition as grapefruit juice. basically increasing the amount of olanzapine in system. i used to think orange juice was slightly alcoholic as i felt the tiniest bit drunk and happy after drinking it, but most likely it is due to the interaction it has with olanzapine it makes it feel like u took extra meds
Well, it’s not a delusion or anything like that, I felt a lot better after cutting out orange juice, although I don’t know the mechanism as to why. The symptoms I experienced were beyond just a blood sugar spike. I mean I felt awful on it. I remember colleagues at work pointing out my eyes were dilated and I felt awful, kind of like drunk, only worse.
So the closest explenation would be that orange juice shares some of the same properties as grape fruit.
I just thought I would put this out there. I mean it’s a easy experiment to see if one feels better stopping orange juice.
Here is one article that recommends avoiding all citrus fruits: Undesirable effects of citrus juice on the pharmacokinetics of drugs: focus on recent studies - PubMed

It’s not quite random from someone who is a diabetic and cant drink juice. I say this specifically because zyprexa is well known for raising blood sugars even in healthy people, but it’s worse for pre existing diabetes. I was on it for a month and it caused me to go into DKA and raised my triglycerides so that I also had pancreatitis. I was very ill. I always tell people to check their sugars while on zyprexa.

That many people would be taking medications and drinking orange juice in the west. If there was a large effect size to this interaction people would know right

Yes, I can only speak for zyprexa, and there might be individual responses to the combination.
