Hi all. Just want to ask that have you got any mild or severe pain at your muscles since you are on injections?thanks in advance.

This topic does crop up now and again. Some people have no pain. Or if you are like me - you will get a delayed dull ache at the injection site a couple of days later. Some find it less painful in the arse. But mines always in the arm. Paracetamol and massaging the site with your fingers helps.

Get mine in the buttocks and it can ache a very little bit for a couple of days

İ m asking this because lately i have some pain at my muscles(not at injection sites).its not intense but i m worrying about future.does anyone using depot injection more than 10 years?

I take depixol and the information with it says it causes general feelings of ill health. Maybe that includes aches and pains?

Been on mine coming up to 7 years. If you got discomfort for a bit - dont worry about it, its not doing you any lasting damage - it will go away after a bit. You will get used to it.
@anon94176359 Depixol? Bloody hell thats an old drug! didnt know they still prescribed it! Was on it donkeys years ago. It does work bloody well tho! lol.

Yeah @Naarai is one of the oldest meds going. I think if you are lucky enough to not get awful side effects is a really strong med.
I can’t tolerate haloperidol but depixol is easier on my system. Is cheap too

Just at the injection site. Maybe you could speak to a doctor. There are many things that can cause muscle pains

I used to feel like i had been kicked by a donky in the ass when I got the injections.

Some APs, such as Haldol (haloperidol) are known to come with muscle stiffness as a side effect, be it in the form of a depot shot or in the form of regular oral tablets. I get muscle pain/stiffness from Haldol tablets, especially in my neck, but adding Cogentin (benztropine) took care of that.

I’m on Abilify Maintena injection. It hurts during 4 or 5 days after injection.

It really depends on a nurse and how muscular is your muscle that you get injected, I get it injected on a bum instead on a my shoulder (Shoulder hurts too much and can not sleep on the side). Sometimes it hurts on the same day, sometimes after a day or two, it is also normal to experience a small lump under a skin, which goes away after few days.
