On playing the lottery

The lottery jackpots are a mirage…when you own a ticket or 100 tickets you get this amazing feeling of hope that you can win…I’ve played the lottery and that dream always comes up…but what if you DO win? Odds are strongly against someone hitting the jackpot. The most I’ve ever won off of a lottery ticket was $7. and I’ve played for decades…I gave up and you should too!

Yeah. I’m thinking of giving it up. I spend the equivalent of $30 a month on it now. It used to make me happy and cheer me up. But not so much anymore. I’m going to have a think about it. I’m entered in every draw until oct 31 now anyway.

Well, the money they make off it goes to fund education, so you really are doing a good turn when you play the lottery. I think I’ve won $27 a couple of times. As for the mega jackpot, the odds against winning that are astronomical, but somebody has to win.

What about the scratch and win ones? Or are these the ones your’re talking about.

I’m sorry if I rained on your parade? I wish it was not so clear to me that I not play the lottery…I used to be excited when I played it.

I’ve heard of people getting lucky on the scratch offs but I’ve played them a lot too and never won anything but like $10…so I am against that too. @MissJennyJen

Yes. I’ve experienced that too. Gambling can be so addictive. Luckily enough, I’m such a poor gambler that I get discouraged quickly. I won enough playing the scratch off lottery, though, that it kept me interested for a while. It’s probably better that I not play the lottery too.
