Old forum, new forum -- medicines

I seem to be noticing that the members of the current forum are very concerned with questions about medicines and supplements. I don’t remember the people on the old forum focusing so much on pills and cures. And I wonder if that’s because of the increasing number of products on the market.

Or maybe it’s a reflection of society as a whole.

Or both.

I wasn’t on the old forum. I think I tried to join but it gave me an error whenever I tried.

Edit: but if there’s more discussion about meds then that can only be a good thing.

I was on the old forum…I think you are correct…

Maybe it’s a combination. I’m interested in all of it to increase my odds of recovery and improve my day to day life. I like hearing about meds, supplements, vitamins, diet, therapies, coping skills, experiences, stories as to what has been helpful to others, as well as the social aspect. I particularly like when articles are linked.

I’m from the old forum and I do notice that many of the new forum members are preoccupied with the latest “cures” and medicines.

I think that today people are more informed and there are more options out there.

I’m from the old forum too, since 2004.
Old forum members seemed to discuss more about working with the options available at the time, and current forum seems to want to wait it out until a ‘miracle cure’ is found before they exhaust all options available.
That’s not to make either forum sound better, nor worse than the other, but the internet can be a blessing, or a curse if you allow it.

On the old forum it was a NO GO to discuss supplements or other alternatives (beside antipsychotics), it immediately got deleted. Many people that we’re trying experimental treatments and wanted to share their experience left the forum out of frustration.

I’m glad we’re able to openly discuss it on the new forum.

Sorry, I don’t remember that. I think I remember writing about a cognitive training site on the internet on the old forum but maybe it was this one.

They still get deleted; there are no alternatives.
