I remember one night when I was in high school. We were out cruising the backstreets (Bruce Springsteen, anybody?) in this car my neighbors parents gave him. And my other friend was there too. It was a "71 Ford Falcon which was very similar to a Ford Mustang. I was only about 14 or 15 at the time. I can’t remember if we were drinking that night but we were cruising around looking for a party. That’s what we did a lot back then on weekends. Parties were obvious back then. We only found them by luck. You drive until you see a street packed with cars and teenagers spilling out into the street drinking beer.
But anyway, we turned a corner and right smack dab in the middle of the street (it was night of course) there were two guys arguing. One was a real short guy and the other was this HUGE guy who looked about 40. We drove past them just kind of watching to see if they we going to fight. We got about 50 feet past them when the guy driving our car thought it would be funny to put it in reverse and floor it and head straight back at those guys until we scared the crap out of them. All three of us were cracking up because we scared them. Then we drove off. Well, we kept cruising around the neighborhoods for about 20 minutes when all of a sudden a car stared coming towards from the opposite direction. The driver kind of forced us to stop and both cars rolled down their windows from a distance of about a foot and half from each other. It was the 40 year old nan from the argument and he was pised. He had a foot long pipe in his hand and he swung it and broke my friends side mirror, shattering it.We were scared to death. He swung it a couple more times and put huge dents in my friends car. We thought for sure he was going to get out and beat us with the pipe,. But all he said was, " If I ever see you punks in my territory again, I’ll kick your asses. When he was finished we drove away, knowing we got lucky and got off easy.
Man you’ve got so many stories, It’s cool you can remember them all. I don’t know if I’d prefer the bland life I’ve led or something a little more dangerous such as yours. Any case entertaining stuff keep it coming. I know its over but merry christmas man.
Oh, I don’t go looking for danger, it just happens, lol. Merry belated Christmas to you too.
@77nick77 you guys were sure lucky! I remember a lot of the fun we had as teenagers, I wish I could go back and do it all again, we had so much fun.
Well, at least you have the memories. And who knows? Maybe you will gain a better level of functioning and create new memories and experiences. Good luck.
I remember stealing (idid not steal it but I was in it ) one of those small school buses, we were all drunk, about 15 or 16 yrs old, we drove around town picking our friends up in the middle of the night and driving around or bringing our friends home. I do not know why we did not think we would not get caught, I mean how conspicuous is that? I got 1 yr probation and it was the only time in my life I ever got in trouble and gota sealed record. one other time when I was 14 I assaulted a cop and they had me psychiatrically evaluated till they found out who my dad was (he was captain of the fire department) and they released me to my uncle because my parents left me alone for 2 weeks.
Well, that was a little adventure. At the time it must have been a HUGE adventure.
I should mention that it was a small camp school bus, you know, the little yellow buses.lol.
Amazing how what seems like a great idea when we’re younger turns out to be the exact opposite when we’re older, eh? Glad you survived the experience in one piece.
