listening to Waylon Jennings, and Willie Nelson too…love the old country stars…like Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Reba McEntire, etc…mellows me out.
I saw him live in concert !
wow, I saw waylon and jessi in concert, with the buddy holly crickets…waylon kept coming up behind jessi and lifting up her petticoat…haha…she’d slap at him.
thank you @firemonkey that songs reminds me of my step dad who passed away…can’t hear it without crying…
We were listening to Johnny Cash in the car, driving from yard sale to yard sale, Saturday morning! We picked Johnny Cash because that’s music that Grandpa enjoyed a lot in his younger days.
Hubby helped Grandpa learn how to use Spotify, so that he can listen to the music he likes whenever he wants.
I’m not a great country music fan, but I do like some of the songs. Dolly Parton’s original version of ‘I will always love you’ is far superior than the overblown Whitney Houston version.
A couple of songs
oh man, did you know that dolly parton wrote “I will always love you” and “jolene” on the same day?? @firemonkey and nitty gritty dirt band were a huge influence on me growing up.
@Blossom oh that is so great grandpa can listen to Johnny Cash…!!
some of shelley’s blues is a nitty gritty dirt band song too…
